4 Fundamentals of Effective Logo Designing

A logo is the face a brand wears in front of its audiences. It is the very first impression its potential customers get by just having just a glance at it. The importance of logo cannot be denied, especially in this modern era where the brands are fighting hard against each other just to snatch the market chunks from each other. In such a scenario, a brand’s first impression counts the most to the audience it is targeting. Dubai is considered as the modern logo designing hub catering the logo designing needs of the whole world; where graphic designers from all around the globe come and seek global clients. Thus, this blog is an attempt to help the logo designing companies in Dubai by highlighting 6 essentials that a logo designing company must focus on while designing one.

When executed correctly, a logo is a powerful asset to your client’s brand. However, creating an effective visual representation of a brand requires much more than just graphic design. Nowadays, just like the trends all across internet are evolving, the same is the domain of logo designing experiencing. The ideas have changed, the brand values have changed, and the way to express has now become more bold and straight. All these alterations and evolutions must be incorporated in the modern age logo designs so that they appear more visually attractive and more expressing to its brand’s target audiences. For this reason, I have outlined 4 vital elements to follow in order to design an effective logo.

1. Visual balance

The most important element that must be taken under consideration while designing a logo is to ensure the visual balance in the logo. Human mind naturally perceives a balanced design as a pleasing and good design. Thus a logo design having visual balance in it will please your target audience and will definitely give a vibrant first impression to the people. While designing a logo, make sure that the weight of the graphics, typography and colors is balanced on all sides of it. Though it is a fact that a balanced logo may not appeal a few, but remember that your logo reaches masses, and you have to develop a good brand image in general.

2. Use of color palettes

Thinking of what color to use in a logo can be quite a challenge for many designers but those who know the basics well can easily use colors to their advantage while designing a logo. Color theory is definitely not a piece of cake for beginners, and thus here is a rule to note down. Always use colors that are near to each other on the color wheel, or color palette. This helps in maintaining the consistency of colors throughout the logo design; e.g. for a cold palette, use navy blue, sky blue, light blue, sea blue, dark blue etc. Never vary our color too much unless asked by the client, after-all client is the father. Colors evoke feelings, and this fact can be used to advantage, such as pink for love, red for aggression, blue for cold etc.

3. Integration of brand style

The most important thing that all the logo designing companies in Dubai must take into consideration is that when creating a logo, they must gather comprehensive information about the client in terms of its target market, the category of services or products the client is offering, the values and norms so the brand etc. In Dubai, 3D logos are a new trend that is being followed quite consistently. Bubbly graphics, bright gradients and drop shadows are being widely used now to design the logos in a much more appealing manner. However, such 3D type logos may not be compatible with every service category. Thus, the logo designers must incorporate the brand’s values in the logo itself, so that the logo perfectly reflects the brand it is made for.

4. Typography and font style

For logo designs that include texts, either as part of the logo or in the tagline, a logo designer must spend some time checking the compatibility for different font types with the artwork, just to sort the perfect one for the client. Typography matters a lot in logo designing, and the reason is not any different; your logo is your brand’s face and its first impression, and your customers won’t be happy if you greet them with fonts like Times New Roman or Arial. Do not use common fonts at all, as the basic aim of a logo is to be unique and different from others. Scale down the font appropriately so that it is not too small to read, nor too huge. Do not use more than one font in one logo, as this may disturb the consistency of the logo design itself.
