Pakistan Super League 2016: PSL Happenings and Updates





Pakistan Super League 2016, a T20 project has finally started in Dubai – the league has launched with a lot of eagerness and passion. The PSL is the ground breaking venture in the history of Pakistan cricket and is reviving the waning fortunes of the Pakistan cricket team and the Pakistan cricket board as well. Players from five cities including, Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and Lahore are playing in this league.  

Indeed, the PSL 2016 is the first franchise-based T20 tournament that is providing emerging and established players with a rewarding opportunity to display their skills during this extravaganza which will last till 24th February, 2016.

The 19-day T20 tournament is held in Dubai and Sharjah, comprises 5 teams:  Lahore Qalandars, Karachi Kings, Peshawar Zalmi, Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators. The outfits boast a perfect balance of international and domestic players.  

Pakistan Super League 2016 rolled in to action on 4th February, 2016, with spectacular light shows and firecrackers at the Dubai Sports City Stadium. The opening ceremony was vibrant and dazzling, no doubt.

Up till now, 5 matches have been played amid squads;

1st T20: Quetta Gladiators beat Islamabad United in first PSL match. The Quetta won with 8 wickets.
2nd T20: Karachi Kings beat Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets.
3rd T20: Peshawar Zalmi defeated Islamabad United and clinched an easy victory by 24 runs.  
4th T20:  Quetta Gladiators thumped Karachi Kings by eight wickets.
5th T20: Peshawar Zalmi comfortably beat Lahore Qalandars by 9 wickets in hand.
